Eureka Miniatures Early French Battalion 2

When it comes to the hobby there is not a lot that beats the excitement of finishing a 36 man Napoleonic unit. So when I finished this unit last week I just stared at them for an hour enjoying the moment. Now they have marched into a customized IKEA box waiting for battle for a long time probably.
As I've said in a previous post these are part of a long term project that, with little modifications such as a flag swap, covers the 1800-1808 period.

Again, these Eureka figures are excellent and include some nice dynamic poses. The bayonets proved a challenge in basing as I wanted them to be able to represent different formations. So all bases (30x40) are marked underneath now with instructions where to put them in which formation. I've never been so organized I must admit. Flag is from GMB Designs.

Next week Salute! Hope to see some of you there at the Blogger meet up. Details can be found on Ray's bog here.

  4. They are stunning Mike,
Great to see you doing Naps. I like your thinking about when we finish painting a unit. I spend a wee while with my wee men when all the basing is finished. I'm half way through a hussar regiment and it has taken me an age.
    Cheers

  12. Magnificent work Michael (love all those bicornes)! A unit to take great pride in. Perhaps one day when Sarah and I retire to Europe we will be able to combine our collections for a proper mash-up. BTW we use 30(w)x50(d) bases to help avoid the march attack crowding and charge engagements lock-ups and it seems to work quite well.
